How Cubic marks a commit
Detection looks for any one of these signals. A commit needs only one to be attributed.
| Signal | Pattern |
|---|---|
| Commit author address | [email protected] |
| Commit author | cubic-dev-ai[bot] |
Example
Author: cubic-dev-ai[bot]
Apply the review suggestion to the error path
Cubic is an AI code reviewer that can also commit its own suggested fixes. It appears in history through a GitHub App author name and a vendor author address.
Reading Cubic’s numbers requires care about what is being counted. A high figure reflects suggestions applied automatically, which is a different activity from writing a feature. The counts are commits, not authorship in the sense the other tools on this list mean.
What detection misses
- Cubic's main product is AI code review; commits it makes are follow-ups to a review, not primary authorship.
- A suggestion a human applies by hand leaves no signal.
